Burgers and Fries

March 7, 2012

That’s lunch this week. My daughter found the burger menu–took long enough! Luckily, I am on Spring Break this week and have the extra time in the morning to make it happen. So Sunday, I made sweet potato fries and apple crisp. There is enough crisp that we all got to sample it, and it is pretty good–and gluten-free! In the morning I nuke a veggie burger and grill a bun–that seems to keep the bread from getting soggy. A little container of mandarin oranges finishes it off.

Apparently, this is a little too much food for her, so we’re holding back the apple crisp. I offered her that has her snack instead, but she wanted the chocolate chip bars I have been sending in instead–made those on our snow day last week along with some ginger snaps–used up the last of my non-gluten-friendly flour! Since those are not g-f, maybe I will keep the rest of the crisp for myself!
